Aristoteles3D

The Aristotels3D project is designed as a framework for applications that need to develop, demonstrate or evaluate new features for 3D models. It is made primarily for scientific use, e.g. scenes to be visualized may not exceed certain memory requirements since otherwise memory restrictions of java and the incomplete performance tuning may take effect.

The Aristoteles3D was developed to visualize, edit and update 3D data given as GML 3.x conform data. It enables users and developers not only to visualize the scene, but also to gain access to given semantics, attributes or metadata provided with the 3D models. To achieve the necessary flexability during a customization process and reducing the need of source code to be read, there are several easy-to-use plugin interfaces available, which can be used to test e.g. new control-types, new operators to change the scene, new picking components or export filters. These interfaces are a main advantage and are in the focus of this project.
